Reconnecting

I chatted with an old friend tonight.  It was the first time we have 'talked' since about 1992 or 93.  She was one of my very best friends from 8th grade until the end of our Sophomore year in high school.  Something odd happened then, and I still don't really know what it was (but I may now have a chance to find out), and we really sort of stopped being much of anything.  In any case, she sent me a message through Facebook a while ago, and tonight we chatted for the first time in 15 years or more.  Facebook may have a number of shortcomings, and people may hate it, but I must say I am thankful for it.  My friend is quite brilliant, funny, and a great conversationalist.  So, thank you, book of faces, for reconnecting me to someone that was once very very important to me.
